Tip 1: Rain

One of the top questions I get asked is “what do you do for our photos if it rains on the wedding day”. Number one rule is to not think about it to much and especially don’t let it stress you out. Unfortunately you cant change the weather so the best thing to do is to embrace it and enjoy the journey.

Remember you have booked your dream venue and the best suppliers who have experienced these conditions many times before and are the best people to guide you through it. Be prepared with umbrellas, and why not make them cute lace ones which will look amazing in your photos!

Did you know it is actually good luck to get married on a rainy day? No, someone didn’t just make that up because it was raining and they were trying to cheer everyone up. You probably didn't know it is actually because you can’t untie a wet knot <3

Another tip for the day is to have a pair of back up shoes just for the photoshoot which are flats or even wedges to avoid sinking and walking in puddles with your beautiful bridal shoes. You could even have some fun and put on a pair of gum boots and really embrace the day!

Lastly, a great photographer will always find beautiful places inside to take photos between the rain showers. It might be the piano in the corner of the dining area that you didn’t see as more than a musical instrument. Or in the back up chapel which has stained glass windows that create amazing light effects. You may not see all of these things when you visited the venue because you were captivated by the stunning gardens for your photos, but remember you have paid good money for your photographer and these are the times they are most creative.
